What is LASIK?
All-laser LASIK, also known as bladeless LASIK, is a surgical procedure utilizing laser to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and/or astigmatism. During the procedure, a thin flap is created in the cornea using a laser so that the surgeon can then remove microscopic cells to reshape the cornea and improve the patient’s vision. Once the surgeon has completed the reshaping of the cornea, the flap is then laid back into place on the cornea, acting like a bandage to naturally heal the eye.
Vision will be significantly improved the day following the procedure and will continue to improve throughout the next few days and weeks.
Cost of not getting LASIK?
LASIK is a procedure that is only performed once versus spending the costs for annual eye exams, glasses, and contacts.
The average cost for LASIK procedure on both eyes is between $4000-$5000, which includes your post-operative care. If you are a daily contact lens wearer, you could be spending $450 to $650 per year in contacts plus the cost of your yearly eye exam, another $100 to $200. Over the course of 10 years, you will have spent over double the amount on contact lens than you would have on the cost of the LASIK procedure.
Our LASIK consultation is completely free! It won’t cost you anything to find out if you are a candidate for LASIK.
