A Florida native, Dr. James Muse returns from Kentucky to join physician staff at Eye Site of Tampa Bay.

Dr. Muse completed his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry. He has practiced throughout North Central Florida with other ophthalmology groups and even owned his private optometric practice in Ocala. In early 2023, he left one of the most distinguished ophthalmology groups in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was certified in Optometric Surgical and Laser Procedures. Dr. Muse enjoys combining his expertise in Optometry with his compassionate approach to patient care in providing Optometric services at Eye Site of Tampa Bay, one of the most respected ophthalmology practices in the Tampa Bay area.

Dr. Muse provides expertise in comprehensive eye care with an emphasis on contact lens services. By staying knowledgeable in ever-evolving ocular technology, he assists his patients in enhancing their vision and safeguarding the longevity of their eye health. With clear explanations, he helps his patients fully understand the unique eye conditions.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Muse is a certified bourbon steward and enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for America’s only native spirit. Most recently, he served as a distillery guardian at Angel’s Envy in Downtown Louisville, leading tours and guiding tasting experiences. In his free time, he has a keen interest in hiking and traveling, especially to Colorado, where he enjoys visiting the outdoors with his two sons.
