Herbert P. Knauf, M.D.

General Ophthalmology

Dr. Knauf completed his undergraduate education at University of Miami. He earned his medical degree from the University of Florida. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. He then went on to complete an advanced cornea fellowship at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Knauf’s interests are cataract and lens implant surgery, corneal surgery, and LASIK vision correction. By having a multitude of techniques for corneal transplantation, including partial thickness DSAEK and DALK techniques, in addition to traditional full-thickness PKP techniques, Dr. Knauf can tailor his surgeries to maximize outcome and quicker visual recovery.

Dr. Knauf has enjoyed playing piano for his church, Gator football, basketball, spending time with his family, and medical missions where he has performed dozens of corneal transplant surgeries in third world countries.
